Understanding the Parts of Medicare
Medicare is divided into four parts: A, B, C, and D. Each part covers different types of healthcare services.
π₯ Part A β Hospital Insurance
Helps pay for:
Most people get Part A premium-free if they worked and paid Medicare taxes for at least 10 years.
π¨ββοΈ Part B β Medical Insurance
Covers:
Part B usually has a monthly premium. In 2025, the standard premium is $185, but it may be higher based on income.
π Part D β Prescription Drug Coverage
Covers prescription medications through private insurance plans.
Each plan has its own list of covered drugs (called a formulary). Costs vary.
